11:87 Theatre Co
We are dedicated to putting on works that reflect the experience of men. It might mean the main character is female (as in our first show) or the writer or director is female. As long as the work reflects similar issues and experiences for men 11:87 is up for it.
Our debut musical THE WAY IT IS at the Edinburgh Fringe 2017 was a heart-breaking tale of a young mother who falls victim to the Family Courts and has her little girl taken off her through the alienating activities of her partner. Any loving parent who loses their child in this diabolical way is one too many. It is happening to lots more men than women.
The show was to flag up Parental Alienation.
11:87 calls out the 15 year ratio of parental custody awards by gender in the UK and campaigns for equal funding with women's theatre companies.
